It was meant to be an inspiring presentation about transformation – complete with loud, catchy music and quick, exhilarating video shots. But as she listened, her heart simply sank deeper and deeper into her trouser socks. Maybe she was too cynical to believe in meaningful change. Or maybe people in her profession were just not capable of evoking a crowd to excitement. Either way, by the conclusion, her spirit swam in a muddy puddle of trending buzz words and euphemistic phraseology. As far as she could discern, they were on an exciting journey toward lightening fast, highly efficient obsolescence – and that was the nice version.
Luckily, during the PowerPoint slides, she was able to divert her angst into soft fingertip clicks across the glowing screen of her iPhone.
