Oh no. No, really. Please don’t sit next to me on the train today.
This is my only time alone, when I can let go of all the strain of the day and breathe: maybe cry, maybe nap, maybe daydream. When the only person looking for me is the conductor and he really just wants to punch my ticket and shuffle on by.
And I’m saving that seat next to me for my big old worries, which I intend to leave behind when I get off at my stop.
And if my worries were to get all involved with your worries, well…who knows what chaos might ensue.
So please, if you don’t mind ? Kindly sit somewhere else tonight.
