think

Think of a happy childhood place.

She closed her eyes.

It was just dark.

Think of a moment when you were safe.

She opened her eyes.

There was nothing except a dirty parking lot outside the window.

Think of a time when you felt loved.

She blinked her eyes.

She would have laughed at the exercise

But for the terrible void in her memory.
