Her sisters told her that Jaws lived in the shed out back and that she was not to go into the shed – at all. In her little girl mind, Jaws lurked under the ground, waiting to rise up with his great teeth from a giant hole in the shed floor and snatch her from the world.
She was afraid of the shed, even without all the shark mumbo jumbo: it was dark and dirty and smelly. But she was also curious.
She should have listened to her sisters. Because something far worse than Jaws inhabited the shed. But she couldn’t help herself and afterward, she was never the same.
